Attracted by its vibrancy
Attracted by the diversity of the industry and the ability to cook a huge variety of cuisine, Simon discusses the reason for entering the world of events. “Everyday the industry brings something new, whether it’s a new opportunity or a challenge, it really keeps you on your toes.” Before working for Smart Hospitality Manchester, Simon managed the fine dining at Manchester United as well as Manchester City Football club, for 6 years running. Simon was also the Executive Head Chef for a major outside catering company in Cheshire, prior to the football clubs.
A taste of the high life
Talking fondly of the industry he is so passionate about, Simon explains that the London Olympic Games was the most exciting event that he has worked on to date. “It was a huge opportunity for me, and allowed me to run a variety of pop up restaurants and champagne bars.” He continues to talk about the perks of the job describing how it has allowed him to live the highlife. “My job has led me to travel around the world, including working in Thailand!”
The Mason Family
With his proudest achievement, being a member of the Mason family, Simon stresses that he wouldn’t be the same person he is today if it wasn’t for them. In his spare time, Simon loves to play golf and enjoys mountain biking, keeping fit and socialising in some of the top restaurants in London, with family and friends. Like we said, the highlife.
