Our rising star
Now a regular of the small screen, Angela has won a legion of new fans starring in a range of successful TV programmes and through her successful first book Angela Hartnett’s Cucina: Three Generations of Italian Family Cooking.
Her first Michelin star
After launching Verre in Dubai she returned to England to launch Menu and The Grill Room at The Connaught in 2002. Her efforts were formally recognized in 2004 with the award of her first Michelin Star. In 2010, Angela took overall control of Murano from the Gordon Ramsay group.
The best British ingredient
Angela’s partnership with Smart began back in January 2011, when she took the helm at the Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room, her first new venture since leaving Gordon Ramsay. Working with her head chef at Murano, Diego Cardoso, and Smart, Angela overhauled the menu, focusing on a daily-changing menu focusing on British ingredients.
Following the success of Whitechapel Gallery, Angela joined Smart as Creative Director and has been actively involved in delivering some of our most prestigious events. Leading the Smart team of chefs, Angela worked tirelessly to design and craft the vast range of menus successfully delivered at the Olympic Hospitality Centre at London 2012. Not only that, she personally led the teams from the kitchen, day-in, day-out; a true team player.
Smart and Angela
Such has been the success of our partnership that we joined forces to launch Smart by Angela Hartnett, a range of unforgettable event menus and dining experiences which bring Michelin-star quality to event catering.
