Paul’s vast and diverse experience of the event catering industry brings a depth of skill, knowledge and relationships with both clients and contracts to Smart, which underpins our energetic business development team.
During a memorable career spanning some 25 years, Paul has held the most senior events industry positions. During his time with Sodexo Prestige he oversaw a £20 million turnover business and delivered record profits. The portfolio of events he has been responsible for includes: The Ryder Cup, Chelsea, Hampton Court and Tatton Park Flower Shows, The Open Golf, Henley Regatta, Farnborough and Paris Air Shows, Silverstone British Grand Prix and many more.
Establishing his own consultancy
In 2003 Paul experienced being an owner operator and established his own consultancy alongside an exclusive event catering company. During this period he delivered many prestigious events including: The British Grand Prix, A1 Grand Prix in Holland, China, New Zealand and Australia, Le Mans Grand Prix, WRC in Wales, Finland, and Germany, Epsom Derby, Ryder Cup Ireland, Farnborough, Paris, Singapore and Dubai air shows, Trafalgar 200 and many more.
Paul joined Smart after heading up the successful London Olympic bid for delivering corporate hospitality at the Olympic Hospitality Centre and proceeded to lead the project at the Games.

We asked Paul what he loves about working in the events industry and at Smart. Paul said, “Events has been my life for the past 30 years with every day being different. I communicate and interphase with royalty and the shop floor, and have travelled the world delivering events. The best thing about being a part of Smart is that I get to eat the best event food in the world, Smart event food”.
