Back of House/Warehouse Assistant

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Back of House Assistant to work within our Operations team, helping us to deliver amazing food and beverage experiences to our clients and guests.   You will need to have a full, clean driving licence, a good grasp of event logistics and ideally a working knowledge of some of the main event venues in London.  This is a perfect opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy environment and is looking for varied and flexible employment.

 

Main Duties

  • Assisting the Back of House Manager and supporting the Ops team in the planning and delivery of events
  • Organising Back of House areas both at base and at venues
  • Arranging transport to and from events including loading and loading of vehicles
  • Driving company vehicles (Category B and C licence is required)
  • Working to departmental standards and achieving team and individual BOH goals
  • Maintaining stock systems and checks for all BOH/warehouse supplies
  • Receiving goods/stock/equipment and storing or distributing it correctly
  • Supervising casual porters as necessary
  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in BOH areas and vehicles, and particularly at the close of an event or at the end of the day
  • Adhering to all health & safety and food safety policies and statutory regulations, reporting any issues or concerns to your manager
  • Positively and proactively contributing to the work of the Operations team and the Company
  • Representing Moving Venue positively and professionally at all times

 

Essential Requirements

  • Eligibility to work long term in the UK (Valid Passport/Visa/Leave to Remain/Permission to Work)
  • Previous Back of House experience in a similar environment
  • A full clean driving licence (Category B licence)
  • A HGV Category C licence (not essential)
  • An awareness of health and safety issues
  • A positive attitude and good sense of humour
  • Excellent leadership & organisational skills
  • Bags of stamina to cope with a hands on operational role
  • Two recent valid work references

Hours of Work

Events generally take place seven days a week, but mostly mid-week evenings.  Each shift is a minimum of 4 hours long and is paid at an hourly rate.  It is flexible work that can fit in with each individual’s schedule/timetable and around other commitments.
