Warehouse and Logistics Manager
The Smart Group are looking to employ a full time Warehouse Manager for our new unit based in the Printworks complex in SE16 on Surrey Quays Road.
The Smart Group is a dynamic collection of hospitality, catering and event management businesses. We need the right candidate to help us drive forward the Warehouse and Logistics operation in order to create those unforgettable experiences for our guests and clients. The Warehouse itself is a work in progress as we have recently consolidated several premises. It is a fast paced environment and is a real opportunity for someone to stamp their own brand on the premises and its procedures.
A Warehouse Manager is required to oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of all Smart Group goods. He/she will ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock. The right candidate will plan the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organise special requirements for certain stock, such as chilled goods or fragile products. At various times of the year the operation will be full on and will mean more supervision of staff and in the quiet times a more hands on approach will be needed.
o To make sure all vehicles are loaded with the correct equipment and are safely loaded ready for transportation.
o To liaise with the Group Dispatch Manager on a daily basis to make sure that all relevant information has been communicated.
o To motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity and meet targets.

o To oversee stock control and the processing of orders
o To ensure quality, delivery and budget objectives are met
o To carry out responsibilities for the use of automated and computerised systems
o To keep stock control systems up to date and to plan future capacity requirements
o To ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment
o To oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
o To ensure all deliveries are seen in with accordance to company policies
Keys skills required:
o Forklift driver
o Full clean UK licence
o Previous Warehouse and or BOH Experience
o HGV and Class 2 driving licence- not essential
o The right to work in the UK
o Fluent English speaker
o A willingness to learn
o Professional appearance and polite manner
o Self composure in all situations due to a high pressurised environment
o Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
o Ability to communicate accurately in both written and verbal English
o To be committed to the Smart Group Cause
o The right candidate needs to be happy to work unsociable hours
