One-way ticket to London
With just a suitcase and a one-way train ticket, Jake left the provincial mining town in West Yorkshire where he was born, and moved to London. Working for several Members of Parliament in both constituency and in Parliamentary offices, it was through the production of a mountain of campaign literature that Jake discovered his passion for graphic design. Between working a few restaurant jobs in Soho, Jake landed himself his first design role for a theatre producer, designing collateral for national and international tours and West End shows.
Vibrant, fast-paced environment
Jake discovered Smart after a chance meeting at dinner with Group Management Accountant, Steve, and was quickly offered an interview, eventually landing him his role. With an array of things to work on and no two days being the same, Jake loves Smart's vibrant, fast-paced environment and enjoys getting stuck in to a new project.
