Senior Event Manager
The candidate will be a key member of the catering operations team, assisting and reporting to the Head of Operations. The candidate will be required to ensure that Moving Venue continues to operate its events to an ‘industry-leading’ standard.
THE ROLE
This is an exciting role and an amazing opportunity to join Moving Venue, a privately owned group of hospitality, catering and event management businesses based in South East London.
Moving Venue has a prestigious history of over 39 years as one of the leading event caterers in the capital operating events across some of the most unique venues of London ranging from museums, palaces and galleries to blank canvases and warehouse spaces.

ABOUT YOU
- Two years’ experience in a similar events’ operations manager role – ready to hit the ground running
- Knowledge of key London venues is essential
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build very good rapport with suppliers and colleagues
- Be highly organised and able to prioritise tasks
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Personable disposition
- Collaborative
- A proven ability to translate client ideas into operational delivery and drive excellence on event days.
- Excellent communicator at all levels – Notably delivering messages to event staff with clarity first time every time
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Assist the Head of Operations in inspiring, leading and developing the operations team.
- To lead events and have a hands-on role with how Moving Venue operate within their exclusive partnerships.
- Consistently deliver against goals to ensure that Moving Venue events meet expected standards.
- Meticulous in logistics and delivery, ensuring that full accountability is taken for your events & always on hand to give advice to other members of the team.
- Continually looking for ways to improve events and operations.
- Ensuring all members of the Operations team are inducted, trained and continually monitored/reviewed in operational procedures
- Attending weekly pre-event meetings and effectively communicating the resulting operational plans to all relevant personnel
- Supporting the Operations team at other events
- Supplier Engagement: Build upon existing internal and external supplier relationships, looking for ways to strengthen those partnerships
- Accountable for event P&Ls and the operational expenditure, ensuring that all events and operations are within budget.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of our venues, clients, competitors, markets and the industry, and an awareness of the impact of any developments in these areas
- Complying with the requirements of MV’s Health & Safety/Food Safety policy and procedures and observing safe working practices both at base and at events
