Venue Operations Manager
We are looking for an experienced Venue Manager to work on board Oceandiva London. They will operate alongside all departments to ensure the smooth and safe running of the venue.
VENUE OPERATIONS MANAGER - OCEANDIVA LONDON
This role is ideal for a highly organised and personable venue manager with a can do attitude and strong attention to detail. Reporting directly to, and working closely alongside, the MD you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the venue from all aspects.
ABOUT OCEANDIVA LONDON
Oceandiva London is the first revolutionary C02 neutral event venue on the River Thames. Spanning across three decks, this unique blank canvas venue provides clients the ability to host sensational events on the river, whether static or sailing, in the heart of the City.
Whether static or sailing down the Thames, this exceptional vessel is designed to complement London’s iconic skyline, connecting guests to London’s world-renowned landmarks and surroundings. Currently event guests may embark and disembark Oceandiva London from London Bridge, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, Greenwich and ExCel.
This versatile venue can play host to a wide range of events, including awards ceremonies, drinks receptions, conferences, dinners, film premieres, fashion shows, product launches, charity events, exhibitions, weddings and private celebrations.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing, privately owned group of hospitality, catering and event management businesses based in central London. Oceandiva London is Smart Group’s brand new events venue on the Thames, launching in Autumn 2022. This is a key role in supporting the Managing Director with all aspects of the events onboard this unique Ship. The candidate will have strong organisation and administration skills, be a good communicator and be keen to get involved in all operational aspects of events on board. Working alongside the sales, planning, production, and catering teams, you will ensure that the venue is always client ready and, when operationally open, managed safely and appropriately.
+ Working with the MD and the Venue Planning Team, coordinate and manage event logistics, such as moorings, drop offs and pick ups
+ Booking of vessel and event personnel e.g. security, first aid etc
+ Supporting overall site management and venue operations, ensuring the Venue is kept at premium standards and rightly deserves our pride as a flagship venue.
+ Ensuring venue, catering and production teams adhere to all venue processes regarding access to the venue and H&S.
+ Managing all site visits and meetings on board
+ Be a support function to the venue planning team, supporting on site visits with clients.
+ Keeping track of regular venue maintenance.
+ Ensuring that all venue and site costs are recorded into the appropriate budget.
Health and safety
+ To ensure that health and safety checklists are completed for each event with accredited training to be provided by Smart where required.
+ Ensuring that all contractors and staff are always working in accordance with relevant risk assessments and safe working methods.
+ Logging all accidents, incidents and close calls and reporting any accidents involving people, buildings, or vehicles to senior management as soon as possible.
+ Meeting the requirements of the Groups corporate social responsibility policy, reducing wastage in all aspects of the operation and other materials with impact on the environment
+ Presenting a professional image to our customers and staff and always representing Smart Group in the most positive way both internally and externally

+ 5 days per week based between Oceandiva London and our Deptford office.
+ Due to the nature of the role, the employee will be required to work occasionally outside of office hours, in evenings and weekends where the event calendar requires it.
