The WeWork Creator Awards At Battersea Evolution

Mon 18 Sep 2017

On Thursday 14th September 2017, Battersea Evolution welcomed 1,300 guests to the WeWork Creator Awards and after-party. The awards celebrated and supported the artists, entrepreneurs, start-ups and non-profits who took part in the WeWork global competition. By the end of the night, The Creator Awards had given out over £1m to 19 companies who they believe are “changing the world”.

Like-minded creators received the ultimate networking experience, with various sections set up around the venue to accommodate for different guests, including a masterclass soft-seating area led by industry giants, a pop-up market area and a jobs fair section. The versatile venue was used to its full potential, with workshops also taking place upstairs on the mezzanine.

The highly-anticipated awards ceremony began at 8pm and was hosted by Reggie Yates and Carly Wilford. The venue was creatively decorated and bean bags were offered for guests to relax on while watching the awards show. After the ceremony, the venue was swiftly transformed for the after-party, where guests carried the celebration on in style with live performances from renowned DJs including Radio 1’s Annie Mac.

Catering was provided by  Smart Hospitality, who offered a variety of food stations suitable for this fast-paced and dynamic event. Trays of alcoholic beverages were circulated as the guests arrived, including quirky cocktails such as Thyme Flies, Apple Bramble-Gin and even the WeWork Signature Shot which consisted of half tequila and half grapefruit juice. Guests could choose from  four food trucks and stations, including a selection of burgers, farmer’s market mini steak & ale pies, Pan Asian-themed dishes and classic NY Mac ‘n’ Cheese with truffle crumble.

Food stations were then set up around the venue for the after-party, offering hot ring donuts with a wide selection of toppings including popping candy, crushed Oreo and caramelised hazelnuts. Guests had the choice to relax on the chill-out seating located at the back of the room but many took to the dance floor while the exhilarating DJ sets took place on stage.

It’s the small details that count and a selection of Pic n Mix sweets were offered to guests as they left the event to ensure the night ended on a high. The awards and after-party proved to be a great success and the atmosphere throughout the night was truly exhilarating, meaning no one wanted to leave when the event finally drew to a close.
