London's leading hospitality event is back

Over 3,000 revellers headed down to London’s Old Billingsgate Market as London Bierfest returned this October.

LONDON BIERFEST 2021

Bringing a taste of Munich to the heart of London

On Thursday 7th & Friday 8th October, over 3,000 revellers headed down to London’s Old Billingsgate Market to kick off the UK’s month long Oktoberfest celebrations in style.

London Bierfest has been a leading corporate hospitality event for nearly 10 years, but was acquired by Smart Group in 2020 which allowed us to give it the revamp it deserved. It was important to do justice to the incredible event that has been created whilst bringing in some new and exciting additions to the festival.

We were delighted that ABK was the Bierfest’s official supplier. They provided us with six delicious beers, served by our very own Heidi’s and Helmut’s who ensured no one went thirsty! It was the incredible entertainment that really got the crowd going, which was ring led by our fabulous (if a little naughty!) host for the two days Eva Von Schnippisch. She led the crowds in tablaoke where guests sang absolute classics at the top of their lungs for a chance to win a magnum of champagne for their table. It’s safe to say, the competition was fierce!

Not forgetting the ceremonial blessing of the sausage on Friday, which was led by master of ceremonies Mark Durden-Smith who gave the 3ft long sausage a traditional Bavarian Scottish blessing before it was sliced up for the crowd. We told you we were bringing some fresh new ideas to the event!

The Fuel Girls

The ultimate Oompah band, The Bavarian Strollers really got the crowds going as they blasted out some Bavarian style covers alongside some traditional tunes. There’s nothing quite like the sound of a tuba to transport you to the streets of Munich.

The Fuel Girls took to the stage and notched the temperature in the hall up a few degrees, as they strutted on the stage to dazzle the crowd with their pyrotechnic prowess in what can only be described as a fire fuelled routine. This was definitely a crowd pleaser!

The Core Band

Next up, the amazing aerial artists Duo Fusion stunned the audience with their incredible strength and flexibility as they took to the silks in an elegant and passionate routine.

The Bavarian dancers led the crowd in a dance along, where they taught a traditional German dance, the Schuhplatter. Members of the crowd lined up on dance floor as they were expertly guided through the routine, which we are sure will be demonstrated in years to come!

The Core Band closed proceedings with a collection of high energy songs which brought the guests back to the dancefloor where they really let their hair down.

Hearty and rich Bavarian platters were served throughout each day to help our thirsty revellers keep their energy high. Our caterers Moving Venue, who have catered at the event for the past 8 years, were back in action to produce all of the platters for the event and they were certainly a hit!

It’s safe to say London Bierfest 2021 was a roaring success and we can’t wait to do it all again next year! Will we see you there?
