Located 45 minutes by road from central London and deep in the Buckinghamshire countryside, Hedsor House provided the majestic setting for a bridal supper party, in partnership with event caterer Moving Venue by Smart and its newly launched wedding specialist brand Occasions. The bridal supper party gave wedding planners, event specialists and media an opportunity to experience Hedsor House for themselves and sample the culinary and sensory delights of Moving Venue.

Owned and managed by the Shephard family, Hedsor House turned into an events venue in 2008. Since then, Hedsor has earned a reputation as a ‘playground for partygoers’ attracting A-List celebrities from around the world. The stately house consists of 11 luxury bedrooms, which includes a recently refurbished bridal suite, one of the largest in Europe.

Occasions provides clients with a bespoke and tailored wedding and special events service, from securing a dream wedding venue to delivering exceptional catering, floristry, entertainment and wedding styling. The evening began with a champagne and canapé reception, which gave host Mark Shephard the opportunity to welcome guests to his ancestral home. During the reception Mark escorted guests on a private tour which included a look around the stunning bridal suite. A sumptuous three course dinner prepared on-site by Moving Venue’s Head Chef Simon Packer and his team followed the drinks reception.

Guests were treated to shaved breast of smoked duck with confit duck polenta chips, whipped sheep’s milk curd, fig confit, duck crumble and a pomegranate and apple salad for the starter. Main course consisted of a rosemary roast best end of Lamb with sticky glazed neck, miso roast aubergine, pea mousse, lamb bacon, baby Chantenay carrots and a pea cream. Finally, guests devoured a beautifully presented champagne, strawberry and rose mousse, sprayed in white chocolate with wild strawberry jelly, Champagne sorbet and crystallised rose.

Once the home of the Dowager Princess of Wales, mother of George III, Hedsor House was ravaged by a devastating fire in 1795. When it was rebuilt in 1868, the house was modelled in an Italian villa style, with a new domed Grand Hall instead of a traditional open courtyard, setting it apart from the grand manors of the time. A family home until the 1950s, it was then leased out as a US Air Force secret communications base in the Cold War, then an international computer company’s headquarters and finally returning to the Shephard family in 2003.
