Leading The Lions Dinner Series 2017 At Battersea Evolution

On May 11th 2017 Battersea Evolution welcomed the ‘Leading the Lions, Dinner Series’ as the Lions looked ahead at the 2017 tour of New Zealand. The event certainly lived up to expectation as an array of Lions, including the Lions head coach Warren Gatland, joined together to discuss memorable tales of their past, certifying exactly why the Lions are the greatest touring rugby team across the globe.
Over 1,000 were in attendance for the dinner series which this year was in support of the Great Ormond Street Hospital. Aside from hearing first hand experiences and stories from Lions Legends, guests were treated to a collection of drinks on arrival including sparkling wine and beer as well as a delicious three-course meal courtesy of Smart Hospitality throughout the night.
For starter, guests had the option of gin-cured salmon with pink grapefruit, avocado, watercress and cinnamon crunch or Pea coquettes with sweet summer peas, jersey royals, beurre noisette mayo and pea shoot mayo – either of which guarantying to tantalise the taste buds.
Main offered a treat of Slow cooked shoulder of lamb in a rosemary sauce with buttered spring vegetables, saffron potatoes and charred baby leeks or Cauliflower and blue cheese pithivier with ratatouille butter sauce and toasted hazelnuts (v).
The mouth-watering three-course meal culminated with dessert in the form of Vanilla set cheesecake with honeyed peaches, raspberry gel, salted honey comb and raspberry crumb.
There was also a rare opportunity to indulge in an exclusive auction for all with a love of rugby. From prize memorabilia from the 2017 Tour through to iconic pieces of Lions folklore, guests soaked in an unbeatable opportunity to literally live and breathe the Lions legacy.
