Battersea's Collars & Coats Gala Brings The Bow Wow Factor
Wed 02 Nov 2016
On Thursday 3rd November 2016, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s Collars & Coats Gala Ball will return to Battersea Evolution. Now in its eighth year, the Collars & Coats Gala Ball attracts some of the biggest names in entertainment, music and sport to celebrate the incredible work of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home who will once again be welcomed by dozens of the charity’s rescue dogs in Battersea’s world-famous Doggy Guard of Honour.
Performing live on the night will be 70’s disco legend’s Sister Sledge who will take to the Battersea Evolution stage to perform their hits Lost In Music, He’s The Greatest Dancer, We Are Family, Rise and Shine, as well as their new single Woman are the Music of the World.
Following a champagne and canapé reception, guests will enjoy a three course seated dinner consisting of a hot smoked salmon with whipped tarragon and lemon curds for the starter, followed by a confirmed slow cooked feather blade of beef with creamed savoy cabbage, thyme roast potatoes, parsley crumb and grilled baby carrots for the main course.
Battersea Chief Executive Claire Horton said: “Every year Battersea’s Collars & Coats Gala Ball gets even bigger and better and in 2016 we’ll raise the roof and set the dance floor on fire with the incredible Sister Sledge headlining the night. We know the sisters are huge dog lovers and will have to tear themselves away from our line-up of homeless dogs on the red carpet. We’re thrilled to have such an amazing band join us to raise much needed funds and can’t wait to see them fill the dancefloor with their unforgettable hits.”
“The Collars & Coats Gala Ball is all about helping Battersea transform even more lives and give hope to thousands of dogs and cats every year. The event will introduce some of the charity’s former residents that have been given a vital lifeline and give supporters a chance to bid for money-can’t buy exclusive auction prizes with the monies raised helping dogs and cats in need.”
Debbie, Kim, and Joni Sledge said: “We are delighted and honoured to headline the Collars & Coats Gala Ball. Battersea Dogs & Cats Homes’ work in transforming the lives of abandoned dogs is incredible. We feel privileged to collaborate with an organization which has committed to providing care, love and respect for vulnerable animals for over 150 years. These are three principles we have lived by throughout our life and careers and strived to defend though our music.”
