Encompassing 1.2 million square feet of London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Here East brings together business, tech, media, education and data in the pursuit of innovation.
Bigger than Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens put together, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is one of London’s most ambitious regeneration projects. Visitors can enjoy biking trails, sports venues, playgrounds and more, surrounded by over 4,000 new trees and a network of rivers and canals to explore.
Here’s everything you need to know…
This is the largest section of Here East and is situated between the Lee Navigation canal and The Yard. The Press Centre houses 227,200 sq ft of flexible working space and offers expansive open floors and excellent data provision. This section is also home to a huge terrace which provides unparalleled views of East London and the perfect space for an exchange.
Housed within the Press Centre, ‘Plexal’ is Here East’s innovation centre and the largest innovation ecosystem in Europe. The centre yields a state-of-the art environment designed as a mini-city for companies both big and small to accelerate innovation. Within 68,000 square feet, over 800 members work at Plexal to imagine, design and create connected products that improve our lives.
As the largest sole building at Here East, the Broadcast Centre occupies a vast space of 661,000 sq ft. This area provides more than sufficient flexible workspace, retail units, large-scale studios and the ideal space to start and grow a business, supported by a state-of-the-art data centre.
The Broadcast Centre is the focus of current activity at Here East, with the television studios for BT Sport, UCL, Infinity Data Centre, Signal Noise and the London base of Loughborough University for their Masters programmes in innovation.
Next to the waterway and among landscaped gardens, a collection of cafés, bars and restaurants make the Canalside a great location to meet, eat and relax.
These shops and restaurants line the Lee Navigation canal, providing a lively backdrop to a range of desirable amenities and a positive community environment.
The Yard is pictured as the centre of Here East campus life – a vibrant meeting space, architecturally landscaped and enriched with dynamic artworks to inspire daily interaction.
The Theatre, which sits at the head of the Yard, is the connector between the Press and Broadcast Centres. With high ceilings and high-end conferencing technology, this space is ideal for product launches, talks, screenings, exhibitions and presentations.
The Gantry is a creative hive made up of a collection of specialist studios. This majestic gridded structure looks out over the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and has been reimagined as a “21st century cabinet of curiosities”. SPACE is a leading visual arts organisation providing workspace and support for artists, and manages the studio spaces that make up the Gantry at Here East.
