Martin Johnson, Jim Hamilton, Alex Goode, George Kruis and Rory Underwood joined The Clubhouse guests this weekend as England claimed the 2017 RBS Six Nations Championships.
As England triumphed over Scotland for a world record-equalling 18th win in a row, guests indulged in a hospitality experience like no other. As guests enjoyed mouth watering canapés and bar snacks washed down with the finest champagne and cask ales, former Scottish international Jim Hamilton gave his thoughts ahead of kick-off.
The Clubhouse guests then settled down and tucked into a three course lunch consisting of the finest sustainably sourced ingredients, prepared on-site by award-winning caterers Smart Hospitality. A particular favourite was the main course of braised feather blade of beef, slowly cooked in ale, shallots and rosemary and served with crushed neeps and tatties and buttered kale. Vintage port and brandies were served as guests enjoyed butterscotch bread and butter pudding with whisky custard.
Martin Johnson, George Kruis and Alex Goode took to the stage during lunch and provided the audience with some humorous and insightful thoughts to the game ahead as well as Calcutta Cup clashes of days gone by.
The match itself saw England put in a breathtaking display as Jonathan Joseph helped himself to a brilliant hat-trick as they claimed the RBS 6 Nations title in emphatic fashion and set up a Grand Slam bid against Ireland this weekend.
After the match, guests returned to The Clubhouse for two hours of complimentary drinks and a traditional fiery beef or spicy Mexican bean chilli, celebrating England’s success in the shadow of Twickenham Stadium. Every element of the day delivered quality and a truly memorable experience for all connoisseurs of the game.
