We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to oversee the sales of catering at venues where we are the exclusive catering partner, specialising in Illuminate, Evolution London and our newest project, Oceandiva London.

EVENT SALES MANAGER - EXCLUSIVE VENUES

This role is ideal for a highly organised and personable event sales manager with a can do attitude and strong attention to detail. Reporting directly to, and working closely alongside, the Director you will be responsible for selling the catering elements of an event, and working alongside the venue and catering teams.

ABOUT MOVING VENUE

Moving Venue has a prestigious history of over thirty-eight years as one of the leading event caterers in the capital operating events across some of the most Unique Venues of London ranging from Museums, Palaces and Galleries to blank canvases and warehouse spaces.

This is a vital role at Moving Venue, overseeing the sales of catering at venues where we are the exclusive catering partner, specialising in Illuminate, Evolution London and our newest project, Oceandiva London.

Illuminate is a dynamic venue which first opened in 2019 and is the only dedicated event space in the Science Museum. With a capacity of 400 for dinners and conferences, and 450 for receptions, the venue has played host to a huge number of fantastic events in the short time it has been operating.

Evolution London is Smart Group’s flagship venue situated in Battersea Park. Following a substantial £3 million investment to improve the site in 2019, the iconic venue continues to be a market leader in large scale events in London. With a standing capacity of up to 4,000 guests, the venue boasts an annual calendar of some of the most exciting events in the capital.

Oceandiva London, launching Autumn 2022, will be the UK’s first CO2-neutral venue on the Thames with a 1,500-standing capacity. Much like Evolution London, this venue is owned and operated by Smart Group and will revolutionise the London event market.

THE ROLE

Your role will entail working alongside both the venue and catering teams, selling the catering elements of an event, with some events requiring more attention than others.

You will be instantly likeable and your role as ‘Event Sales Manager – Exclusive Venues’ requires you to have an outgoing personality, enduring enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. You will be an excellent team player, able to communicate at all levels and commit to sharing your knowledge and skills. You should have a passion for organisation, provide outstanding service to clients and be able to cope with the pressure of a fast paced role and act professionally at all times.

This role will be split between Moving Venue’s base in Deptford, , the Science Museum in South Kensington, Evolution London in Battersea and Oceandiva London near Tower Bridge. This will depend on the needs of the business; however, we envisage 80% of the time will be spent onsite at the venues, so a flexible approach is key.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

+ Establishing clients’ needs (end user, agent or venue) and presenting effective event solutions.

+ Producing proposals for all bespoke event enquiries and upselling clients from a packaged offering.

+ Conducting tastings and site visits with clients.

+ Employing the appropriate resources to elevate our company above competitors (site visits, menu tastings, event out-mess etc.).

+ Identify areas where Moving Venue can create new product ideas and creativity.

+ Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Moving Venue’s product and communicating this to clients and the venue.

+ Knowledge in selling the catering of large-scale events in comparable venues across London.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

+ Strong methodology and organisation.

+ Great attention to detail and dynamic approach.

+ Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

+ A keen appreciation of the commercial aspect of your role, where margin, value & the on-going strengthening of the bottom line are paramount.

+ Strong sense of ownership and appropriation.

+ Excellent computer and CRM skills.

+ Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading and speaking.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

+ Ability to complete event projects with little supervision.

+ Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.

+ Experience designing events and coming up with creative ideas.

+ You are able to commit to a flexible work pattern occasionally undertaking weekend work.
