On 9th June 2026, Smart Group hosted the annual Friends of Battersea BBQ at Battersea Park's Bowling Green, bringing together local community members for an evening of food, music, and entertainment.
What is the Friends of Battersea BBQ?
On Tuesday 9th June 2026, the team at Smart Group once again hosted their annual Friends of Battersea BBQ, located at Battersea Park’s Bowling Green. After concerns of rain earlier in the day, we were pleased to have the sun come out just in time for us to host everyone.
Our team arrived in the early afternoon, working together to get everything set up for the evening ahead. Working side by side, the catering, operations and volunteer teams ensured that the food, beverages, tables and entertainment were all prepared in time for the arrival of our guests.
Attended by members from the local community, Smart Group organised the BBQ and provided a delicious spread of food from Moving Venue catering. Juicy burgers, tasty hot-dogs and fresh summer salads fuelled everyone for a lovely evening to kick off the summer season.
Whilst tucking into their food, attendees enjoyed the talent of multiple musical acts throughout the course of the evening; contributing to the relaxed vibes all-round. Alongside the delicious food and musical entertainment, we also offered an array of children’s activities, a silent raffle and charity tombola for everyone to enjoy.
For us at Smart Group, the Friends of Battersea BBQ is an event we look forward to each year. Not only does it signal the start of summer but it marks the importance of contributing to our local community and supporting charities that align with our ethos. Friends of Battersea Park exists to help protect the park and ensure it remains a place of tranquility and natural beauty for all visitors. The charity operates as a voice between visitors and managers of the Park, liaising between the two, and building a supportive relationship
As we celebrate these organisations, it is important that we honour their work by hosting environmentally conscious and sustainable events. That is why we collaborate with Enable and Wandsworth Council to guarantee our events remain community-led and sustainable.
