Moving Venue are looking for a part-time Kitchen Administrator to provide administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.

Kitchen Administrator (Part Time)

The primary objective of the kitchen administrator's position is to offer crucial administrative support, ensuring the kitchen and associated processes in the catering department operate smoothly and efficiently.

THE ROLE

Moving Venue is one of the original event caterers in London, in its 40th year; with accreditation at over 40 venues in London, Moving Venue caters for over 400 events annually. The scale and variety of these events showcase our talent for handling challenging projects while continually pushing the boundaries of what is achievable.

The main purpose of the kitchen administrator’s role is to provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen and related processes within the catering department.

By managing all administrative tasks effectively, the right candidate will help streamline operations, enhance productivity, and contribute to the overall success of the kitchen and culinary team; ensuring that Moving Venue continues to operate its events to ‘industry-leading’ standards.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordination of kitchen planning.
  • Assist senior chefs’ team in compiling information discussed at pre-event meetings, including recording attendee numbers and any additional requirements.
  • Effective and timely management of event orders, updates, and attendee numbers.
  • Administration of procurement tasks such as ordering from food suppliers and seeking cost-saving opportunities.
  • Recording and overseeing invoice details.
  • Compilation and organization of allergen information for each event.
  • Oversight of fridge/freezer temperatures, completing the necessary documentation.
  • Scheduling transport plans for dispatch.
  • Preparation of detailed kitchen specifications for all desserts including afternoon teas and bespoke orders.

Miscelleneous

  • Representing Moving Venue positively both internally and externally.
  • Manage the team to take pride in their role by demonstrating a consistently positive and professional approach to communications, working to clear expectations and objectives using great systems and procedures.
  • Listen to feedback and provide solutions as necessary.
  • Complying with MV’s Health & Safety/Food Safety policy and procedures and observing safe working practices both at the base and during events.
  • Performing any other reasonable duties required to efficiently and profitably manage the company.

  • Proficiency in Excel, spreadsheet management, and project coordination.
  • Preferably, a background or familiarity with the food industry.
  • Willingness to accommodate flexible working hours for the suitable candidate.
